Qawra
DescriptionQawra is situated near Bugibba in the northern path of the island. It is one of the best sites for sea watching in Malta. Qawra is very popular with tourists due to the many hotels found in the area. Qawra is all built up but one can birdwatch from near the coast like near the tower. From here you can see St.Pauls Bay islands, Xemxija Bay and Bahar ic-caghaq Coast. A wide variety of birds can be seen here throughout the year including sea birds, birds of prey, herons and ducks. A telescope is recommended the get the best out of the time spent birding. A lot of patience is needed as sometimes the birds will be far out at sea and a lot of time is spent scanning for any passing birds.
